Welcome to PSJobethWrites

A creativity blog that houses the things I love to write (when I’m not afraid of writing) and other creative projects (that I do when I am afraid of writing).

Hello there!

My name is Jobeth Pascual.

I’m a first-generation Filipino-American, a registered nurse by day, heart-led writer by night, and a proud mama always. She is an old-souled child-at-heart and dog adorer who grew up with one foot in the Bay Area and the other in the Napa Valley. Aside from poetry, she enjoys writing introspective essays, nonfiction, and about the small but profound moments in life. Author of a self-published poetry book entitled, Letters to the Editor, featured writer in multiple anthologies, and aspiring to add more to the list.

Why the name?

I’ve been relatively shy about my love for writing in the past. Whether it’s imposter syndrome or a fear of failing at something I love, there is an intimidating aspect to writing. My track record would show that I have given in to the heaviness disappointingly often and walked away from my desk, no matter how much I wanted to write. I created this blog in 2025 as a way to keep myself accountable, a vote of confidence in myself, and to share my work.

With the name “PSJobethWrites”, I’m leaning into the funny fact that “Oh by the way I love to write!” By choosing levity and lightheartedness, I find my writing much freer, genuine, and authentic. And this, friends, is my creativity’s sweet spot.

What you’ll find here…

Reflection, inspiration, community, creativity, or at minimum, a good read.

But honestly? Here, you’ll find a writer who is just trying her best to do what she loves.

And her best looks different every day.

PSJobethWrites is the home where her everyday’s best lives.

Writing is an interesting passion. Some days, the words and ideas flow from my heart through to my fingertips and onto the paper. Others, it’s a disciplined fight to get anything on the page. For something I love to do, writing definitely challenges me by demanding for accountability, focus, vulnerability, honesty, courage, grit, and sometimes, the benefit of the doubt that the roller coaster is worth it in the end. It hasn’t failed me yet.

Below are the different series and categories that have emerged from my writing.

Too Kinds of People:

The different Too’s (too nice, too shy, too quiet, too much, etc), both my own and the ones submitted by readers. These pieces will be about embracing and navigating life with them. I hope to create a community of “Too” kinds of people that feel seen and supported not just by others, but by themselves.

Motherhood Moments

Essays focused on the journey and transition of becoming a new mama. The good, the tough, the stinky, the beautiful.

These will be reflections on my writing process or reviews on books about the creative process as a whole, such as Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert or The Creative Act by Rick Rubin.

Writers Reflections:

Poetry written in a similar style to my book “Letters to the Editor”. These poems will be written to a wide variety of people, topics, and things in life.
